I am very grateful to have been part of the inaugural Association of Legal Technologists conference.

The conference succeeded in its mission to bring together thought leaders from law firms, clients and vendors in an environment where all participants were treated equally to explore how Design Thinking can revolutionize the legal industry.  Margaret Hagan, Director of the Legal Design School at Stanford Law School, got our creative juices started with her keynote address and breakout sessions. Everyone participated in 1on1s and round-table workshops designed to share each other’s ideas and experiences. In line with its organizers’ philosophy, the ctrlALTdel Conference was uniquely different in that every registrant spoke and added to the conversation. It was not 1 speaker and 140+ listeners. It was 140+ creative minds solving existing problems and designing the future of an industry.  ALT founding member, Rick Hellers, emceed the event with industry veterans like Judi Flournoy, Kelli Kohout, Beau Mersereau and Jeff Brandt, leading thoughtful dialog on Artificial Intelligence, DevOps, resources and the changing billable hour. Neuroleadership Consultant, Ron Sepielli provided insights to our neural instincts and showed us how to use awareness, reflection and insight to create the action needed to evolve an industry.  The JW Marriott at Camelback provided the intimate venue for all to mingle, eat, drink and engage in lively conversation.

I am very much looking forward to being involved in future ALT events and being part of the thought leaders changing the legal technology industry.
